and yes, they do have outfits for boys as well.  one particular high point of this photo shoot was that it gave me an excuse/chance to interact more with some of our local neighborhood kids and their families, as i was in need of some cute models!  in one instance, i just went to a spot in our neighborhood where the kids usually gather to play and asked a couple of them to model for me on the spot (like this handsome boy below).  pretty soon, many of the parents/grandparents were asking me to photograph their kid, even if they weren’t modeling for me.

being a sucker for nice packaging and materials, it made the whole thing that much, well, nicer.    (anyone else make purchases just because of it’s nice packaging?)

speaking of bundles and packages… wanted to use this post to also share that we are currently in the midst of packing up our home.  (!!)  having lived here just under a year, we are getting ready to move to a different city within China due to my husband’s work.  so in some ways, we’re starting all over again after just starting to feel more settled in in our current home.  this move came as a total surprise to us and came up just 2 weeks after kaylah was born.  needless to say, it’s been a bit crazy around here (thus also the relative quietness of this blog).  but we’re trusting good things will come out of the move and in this next adventure.

If it’s kind of quiet on this blog, please bear with me as we are busy getting ready to temporarily relocate to Shanghai in about a week to await the arrival of baby #2… which is due in just a month!  also was happy to have family visiting this past week, and more family on the way to welcome the new baby.

also, random interesting tidbit… in China, the idea of “planning ahead” seems to differ quite a bit from the US.  for example, today we arranged for a vehicle from luke’s company to help us move up to Shanghai in a week.  while they said they can get us a vehicle (thankfully), we were told it was *way* too far in advance to plan out any specifics (what car or driver will pick us up, etc…).  when luke asked for a day off of work a week in advance, they were surprised he was asking so early.  and so maybe i shouldn’t fret so much that we are a week away from relocating to shanghai for a month, without a definite place to move into yet?

It’s an exciting year for Shokay, including an opening of a second store in Shanghai at the Sheraton Hongqiao Hotel.  Congratulations you guys!
