it’s always exciting when different friends of mine choose to venture into creative endeavors and start their own businesses.  (particularly interesting, given that many of us are former/current engineers.  hmmmm…)

carol recently started her own etsy shop of handcrafted jewelry.  i know carol through my husband, as they grew up in the same youth group back in ny.  i’ve been following her blog, and was pleasantly surprised to see that this past friday, she interviewed my good college friend, wendy, owner of dozi, and designer of my lovely  logo.  =)  2 friends from different worlds, now friends with each other.
turns out carol met wendy via a “mutual friend’s blog”… i think that might be me, right carol?  =)    funny how blogs can make different worlds collide. 

both of these ladies have lovely products, so go check it out sometime!

but then i discovered Google Reader… ahhh…  This lovely thing basically allows you to read all your favorite blogs in a single interface, without having to go directly to each blog’s site.  I now just read all my blogs via Reader.  And even better, you can easily see when there is a new post, so you never miss out on anything or needlessly check for updates.  Just copy and paste your fav blogs’ url addresses into your subscription list and you’re good to go.  So go check it out and of course, feel free to add this blog to your list so you don’t miss out on all these announcements and images i’ve been posting.  (hint hint)
(Reader also allows me to follow fun contests and giveaways like this. )

If all this seems too fancy for you, did you know you can also read posts from my blog via email?  Check out the little window at the bottom right corner of my blog to subscribe.

A couple warnings about Reader though.  1) While it saves me time not having to jump from blog to blog for updates, i now read so many more blogs than before because it’s that easy.  haha.  so probably not saving much more time…   2) You can’t leave comments on a blog when you read it through Reader, so do come back to my actual site once in a while and leave some love.  =) 

So what kind of blogs do you guys like to follow?

In April, we are looking forward to taking our first trip back to the States since moving to China! Yay! Looking forward to seeing family, friends, and a whole list of little-just-can’t-experience-here-things that maybe I’ll list another day.

And of course, I couldn’t resist scheduling in some portrait sessions. I will be offering a *limited* number of sessions during the month of April. So for those of you living in Michigan and would like an exclusive session with a photographer traveling all the way from China (wink)… send me an email to be included on my interest list.
I am still finalizing details on package offerings, available dates, and locations. But those on my interest list will the first group to be notified of all the details, and therefore have the first chance to book a session. Please let me know if you have any questions or special requests.

In the meanwhile, in honor of Michigan, here are a couple cuties I photographed a while back when we were still living there.
