Advent season is here. Christmas markets are setting up all over town. Starbucks is playing Christmas music continuously. I have been doing daily Taobao shopping/obsessing for extended family as we get ready to go back to the US – spending our first Christmas back in the US since moving here in 2008. My kids are happily opening up their advent houses each day to find treats and verses pertaining to Jesus’ birth. First batch of Christmas cookies have been baked – a few more to go.
In the midst of the festivities, in this season of advent, it is wondrous to be reminded of a humble beginning a couple thousand years ago. A little life like the precious newborn shown above.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths an lying in a manger.” Luke 2:11-12
